Genesis

Gram Pukar Foundation, formally established in November 2012, began its journey as an informal voluntary organization named "Rural Call." This initiative was driven by a profound mission: to empower grassroots communities by connecting the dots—bridging traditional knowledge, modern technology, grassroots innovations, experts, and passionate individuals to address local challenges sustainably.

 

For over 12 years, Rural Call collaborated with various organizations, embracing the philosophy of the Honey Bee Network. By supporting eco-friendly and sustainable solutions tailored to grassroots challenges, it championed initiatives deeply rooted in community needs. These efforts involved scouting, nurturing, and disseminating innovations to create lasting impact.

The transition from Rural Call to Gram Pukar Foundation marked a significant milestone. Registered as a not-for-profit organization, Gram Pukar represents the culmination of a 12-year journey undertaken by its founder, Ramkrishna Sameriya. This journey was one of deep learning and an unwavering commitment to understanding grassroots realities and challenges. The Foundation’s evolution was organic, born from countless interactions, insights, and collaborations with the very communities it sought to uplift. Today, Gram Pukar stands as a beacon of hope, empowering rural communities through sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation.
