At Gram Pukar, we believe in the power of rural communities to drive sustainable change. As a catalyst for rural sustainable growth, we work to empower individuals, foster innovation, and promote eco-friendly development. Aligned with SDG 17, we believe in impactful collaboration for sustainable change. We work with social entrepreneurs, women, farmers, tribals, and youth on rural development, agriculture, skilling, and economic inclusion, along with 9 partners.
45 million+ women in India were living under extreme poverty, highlighting the gender disparity in poverty levels.
53% of farm households earn less than the poverty line income and 82% of farmers being small and marginal.
8 million+ youths enter India's labor market annually. In 2023, 42.3% of graduates under 25 were unemployed, highlighting the need for effective job creation strategies.

Ramkrishna operates in a hybrid model as the founder of both Udyam Academy—a rural enterprise development institution—and Gram Pukar Foundation, a grassroots nonprofit focused on tribal and underserved communities. Together, these platforms blend entrepreneurial rigor with community-led transformation.
In 2013, deeply inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s ideals and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s PURA (Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas) model, Ramkrishna resigned from his corporate role and set out on a footwalk through India's rural heartlands. Through his blog Rural Call, he began documenting stories of rural resilience and innovation. Though he returned to corporate life in 2015, his heart remained tethered to rural India.
In March 2022, he founded Pioneer Udyam Academy LLP – powered by Roxbourg, Switzerland, followed by the launch of Gram Pukar Foundation in 2024, to fulfill his enduring vision of rural empowerment.
Over the years, Ramkrishna has mentored over 250 rural entrepreneurs, equipping them to build sustainable, purpose-driven businesses. He holds an MBA and a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA)—both awarded with Gold Medal distinction and completed on a 100% scholarship from Roxbourg, Switzerland. As a TEDx speaker and author of Dots Will Connect, he inspires young changemakers to walk the path of service and self-reliance.
He has traveled across 18 states and footwalked more than 800 km, participating in 5 Shodh Yatras with SRISTI Innovation and 3 Gram Pukar Padyatras. Ramkrishna’s hybrid leadership is shaping a new ecosystem for rural transformation—where entrepreneurship meets empathy, and innovation serves inclusion.
